Imagination

I remarked last time, or the time before, how fast it goes. The days, the weeks, and as the kids will all find out, the years. Not only have I not been posting to my lessons from Lilly blog, I couldn't even remember how to find it. This is not good. Imagination. I had such a big imagination as a kid, such a day dreamer. I continued that into my adulthood, only it was called "dreams" or "hopes". I didn't imagine I was an alligator, or a princess instead I was actually a ballerina, a jockey, or a major league baseball player, if you want the truth. Maybe being a princess is better than being a wife or mother in Washington...nah... Lilly has such a great imagination. She plays "eat the toes" a game started by Aunt Dana. She plays eat the eyeballs, there are many things to eat when you are not quite 3. Not only can you be anything you want, but the people around you can be anything you want them to be.

Lilly was over the other night. Jen and Jas were gone, Papa and I were Lillysitting. Lilly had turned me into an alligator, a role I was playing quite well actually. Then standing at the sink she looked at me and said "You're not an alligator, I am turning you into a beautiful, beautiful buttersly" (yes, a buttersly) I thought that was very nice of her. I have carried my beautiful, beautiful butterslyness into the week with me. It is a good place to be in life.

I am not sure this post has made much sense. I just wish we could all take a minute, forget the pressure, forget the future dreams and hopes, and just relish the moment of being a beautiful, beautiful buttersly.

love,
Nancy
